10 Weather: Brunch to beach day for Mom!

It's a brunch to beach day for Mom! Partly sunny skies and a break in the humidity for one more day!

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Our Mother's Day weekend wrapped up with fantastic weather thanks to lower humidity and a light breeze. That humid air quickly returns as moisture pumps in ahead of a system expected to bring us rain Tuesday through Wednesday.

Monday:  A disturbance ejecting from the west will approach the panhandle come Monday afternoon. Much of this system is anticipated to stay north of the Nature Coast, however a rogue storm could branch off the main line that may produce a gusty downpour for our northernmost counties. Otherwise, sea breeze showers are likely to bubble up across our inland locations during peak heating hours. For the rest of the region, look for a blend of sunshine and few clouds with afternoon temperatures heating towards the lower 90s. With the increase in humidity, our feels like (heat index) temperatures will range from the mid to upper 90s so take it easy if you plan on spending time outdoors.

Tuesday: Ahead of our next frontal boundary, warm moist air moves in while winds turn breezier. An isolated storm across the nature coast will be possible, and afternoon sea breeze showers likely across our interior areas once again. Highs in the lower 90s.

Wednesday: A stalled out 'cool' front will produce a few rounds of scattered showers to the occasional downpour with a stronger isolated storm possible. Afternoon temperatures hover between the mid to upper 80s.
